My life is an open book and is reflected in my poetry. As I have passed through the various stages I recall that I've always been passionate at whatever I become involved in. As a child and young man, sport was paramount and substituted for shortcomings in my upbringing. How I enjoyed the judo and 14 years of semi-professional soccer in London. Family life was even more important and so many wonderful memories are stored away from those early years with my first wife and four children. Much of the poetry written in those years was lost after the divorce in 1998. Not everyone had computers and word processors at that time, but some I re-created from memory.

My family moved from London to Sydney in 1986 and we settled on the Northern Beaches. Life was wonderful & we all embraced the Australian dream. A five bedroom house with a swimming pool really was a dream come true. I started a small computer repair business which ran quite well for several years. As the kids grew up I had lots of time to share with them. So many long, in depth discussions, which influenced the directions which they followed in life. They have all been very successful in their chosen careers. All four love Staffordshire Bull Terriers. We always had one as part of the family in England and Australia.

After the Computer business, I drove a bus for three years before setting up STREET MISSION. This was the charity I had planned for several years. The divorce from my first wife provided ‘the window of opportunity’ and my charity work was paramount in my life for the next 15 years. There is now a wonderful committee running Street Mission & I have stepped down gradually over the last 5 years. www.streetmission.com.au

Having just turned 65, it is now time to ‘smell the roses’. I’ve already taken my wife on a S Pacific cruise this year, enjoyed the World Cup 2014 in Brazil (including the Brazil-Germany semifinal). Then we took a trip to in October 2014. This year (2015) we will ‘hit’ Europe for 2 months before starting to explore Australia by road. I now have the time to do these things and write about them as I go.

Dame Edna (Barry Huphries) once commented that Jane Seymour had been ‘successfully married three times’ and the same applies for me. ‘First Kiss’ and ‘3 Doors’ reflect some of the passion in the first two relationships. My third and final wife is Lilly. We compliment each other and are happy together. We both enjoy ballroom dancing and Salsa and go dancing a few times every week.

In the last few years I have become active politically and tried to push new ideas about ‘affordable housing’ and ‘clean nuclear energy’ (Yes it is possible using Thorium). Unfortunately, ‘career politicians’ rarely look beyond the next election. Once again the passion is there and what I lack in political skills I make up for in persistence.

Perhaps most of all, I believe we should all live life to the full. Never be afraid to take a chance or make the necessary changes that will bring happiness into our lives. Look for something positive in every situation. Smile at everyone. Laugh wherever possible. Be happy.
